Beam Me Up, Scotty!

I regularly listen to LiteFM, a local radio channel in Malaysia, and Taylor Swift often pops up with her catchy pop tunes, with ‘Wildest Dreams’ and ‘Style’ being two of her latest numbers to be aired on the radio. I am quite taken with both songs, so I decided to watch the official music videos for them last night on YouTube.

And the rest was history.

In Swift’s music video for ‘Wildest Dreams’, Scott Eastwood, the dashing son of Clint Eastwood, played her opposite love interest in a show of filming a romantic scene, with Swift herself as the actress in the video. Oh boy, that unmistakable brooding good looks and features were a spitting image of his father, legendary cowboy actor and director Clint Eastwood (famous for movies like ‘The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly‘). It wasn’t hard to miss such a striking face like that. I instantly knew it was him. That perpetual frown was enough to make me all weak and jellified inside, and I rushed to Google to download a couple of his photos.

With a little determination and some more digging, these are what I unearthed about this God-given, charming young man:

Scott Eastwood was born as Scott Clinton Reeves, on the wonderful day of March 21, 1986 in Carmel, California, USA. OMG I just realised that he shares the same birth date as I do! Which makes him 29 this year… Wow. And he’s obviously more successful and richer than I am. He makes more money than all my years of working put together!

Everyone knows who his father is, yes? No need for anymore introductions there. His mother was a flight attendant. Scott grew up in Hawaii, with his younger sister, Kathryn Eastwood and his half-siblings, including Kyle Eastwood (musician) and Alison Eastwood (actor), Kimber Eastwood, Francesca Eastwood and Morgan Eastwood.

Scott Eastwood is a strong supporter of deceased friend Paul Walker’s charity Reach Out World Wide, and also a friend of Walker’s younger brother Cody, who now runs the organization. Funny how that turned out because now Scott is the face and ambassador of Davidoff’s Cool Water advertisement! I must admit, he is a good replacement model for the ad anyway! His good looks, trim and toned physique and fair skin remind me a lot of Paul Walker.

Scott made his debut in acting in 2006 for a movie called ‘Flags of Our Fathers‘ which was directed by his father, Clint Eastwood. Ever since then, he has co-starred in several other films, including ‘Invictus‘ (2009 – a sports drama) as union rugby player Joel Stransky, ‘Texas Chainsaw 3D‘ (2013 – a horror sequel) as Deputy Hartman, and ‘Fury‘ (2014 – a war action film) as Sergeant Miles, alongside Brad Pitt. His latest movie is a romantic drama, ‘The Longest Ride‘ (2015) where he plays the lead actor Luke Collins opposite Britt Robertson, and in 2016, he will co-star in the drama ‘Snowden‘, based on a true story of the CIA asylum-seeker Edward Snowden.

Scott has a pretty long and historical lineage, from being English to having smaller amounts of German, Irish, Scottish and Dutch ancestry. Apparently some of his mother’s ancestors were from Canada too! That’s a lot of something to be in someone.
